CGS Presents It’s First Fashion Show!

April 15, 2010
by A@CGS

If I seems that I’ve been a little absent lately, it’s because I’ve got a lot on my plate with an upcoming event.

And you, my dear followers, get to hear about it first!  I am working with a company called Nerds At Heart, who hosts dating parties for smart singles.  As part of their Earth Day event, I am producing and sponsoring a casual, geek-chic fashion show using all recycled/vintage clothing.  The event is exclusively for singles, but if you would like to know more, please email: anna@nerdsatheart.com

This may be one of my most favorite color combos-- olive and blue. I also love the accessories in this look, especially that watch!

Here Comes the Sun in the South Loop

Little darling, it's been a long, cold lonely winter--which is why yesterday, many Chicagoans enthusiastically greeted the sun in shorts, sandals, or sundresses. I, however, prefer a slow transition into summer attire, like this easy breezy spring look.

Headscarves Over Heels in Love

About a week ago, I posted a picture of myself with a scarf wrapped around my head, and mused on how this look could be Spring-a-fied.  Well,  I decided to try it out at a shoot that I styled this past weekend.  I stole a couple of the raw images to show you:

Dress by Jean Paul Gaultier for Target, headscarf from H&M, worn by Stephanie (FACTOR)

P.S.  I will be out of town for a week, so unless you’re dying for coverage of small-town Indiana street style, there will be no more posts until Monday.  See you then!

My typical winter ensemble, on an atypically pleasant winter day. I started wrapping my scarf this way for practicality, but now it's almost become a trademark. I'm thinking of trying it with a light scarf for spring. Any thoughts? And did anyone else notice the prevalence of headscarves in French Vogue this past month?

Making It Work on the CTA

You know it's a good day when you look over and see Project Runway alum Terri Stevens sitting opposite you on the bus, doing her own take on menswear style. We talked a little shop... and by that I mean the Oscars red carpet.
